1. TAA and Multi-GPU Support

In addition to the Three Kingdoms system requirements let’s keep an eye on the graphics output:
Creative Assembly has noticeably stepped up their game in their attempt to ‘overhaul’ Total Wars gameplay systems. Total War: Three Kingdoms marks their most ambitious undertaking yet, but what exactly separates it from its predecessors?
CA has called Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA) as their headline technical feature, as it’s supposedly so performance-efficient – it allowed them to drop Multi Sample Anti Aliasing (MSAA) completely, as it simply wasn’t needed anymore. No wonder the majority of new PC games feature TAA as their principle form of anti-aliasing.
However, they still kept Fast Approximate Anti Aliasing (FXAA), as it’s the most performance-efficient version and while not visually as clean as TAA, should improve gameplay on lower spec systems.

There is one catch though: As TAA is technically incompatible with both Crossfire and SLI, Three Kingdoms won’t be supporting these forms of multi-GPU rendering.
